Personal Letter from Dr. Wayne Lee

Hello there and thank you for visiting my website. Allow me to tell you a little about myself. I am a general dentist who believes the best dentistry for everyone is the least amount of treatment.  Most dental problems are preventable and with thorough routine visits, most patients can have their natural teeth for a lifetime.

My favorite means of achieving a beautiful and healthy smile is in the area of orthodontics and teeth whitening because these dental treatments don’t involve drilling of teeth.  Only when the condition cannot be improved with braces and whitening would I consider restoring them. 

When a patient needs a composite filling, I will go the extra mile to keep the filling small to preserve as much of the natural teeth as possible.

I believe that it’s better to remove the wisdom teeth before the roots are completely formed, usually before 20 years of age, because they are easier to extract and the healing will be quicker.  I have seen many older patients suffer from cavities and gum disease due to wisdom teeth complications.  I am very comfortable with wisdom teeth removal since I have successfully extracted over a thousand wisdom teeth in my career (impacted and non-impacted).

I also love implant dentistry because this is an area where I can give my patients back what they have lost. Dental implants are the most natural way to replace missing teeth.  For most cases, I place and restore implants, taking my patients through the entire process at our office.

Lastly, I have a Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CT) imaging unit in my office. Cone Beam CT imaging is a safer and faster version of the medical CT imaging and it allows me to see the mouth in 3D so that a more accurate diagnosis and treatment plan can be accomplished.

History

Dr. Wayne W. Lee received his D.D.S. from the University of California, San Francisco in 1999.  He was attracted to the culture and the ethnic diversity of San Francisco.  After working for another dentist in the city for two years, he went on to establish the San Francisco practice in 2001, serving the diverse Richmond community.  Due to an increased number of patients who are coming to our San Francisco office from south of the city, we have opened our second office in San Bruno in 2012 to increase our capacity to serve you.
